SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT :

         WORKSHOP ON QUADRATIC FORMS AND RELATED TOPICS

            Tuesday, May 25  to  Friday, May 28, 1999

                       in Besancon, France



Dear colleague(s):

As you might know, there will be  a  meeting  on  "Quadratic  and
Hermitian  Forms" in Oberwolfach during the week May 17-21, 1999.
On this occasion, we decided to organize a small workshop in  the
Department  of  Mathematics  at  the Universite de Franche-Comte,
Besancon (France)  during  the  week  following  the  Oberwolfach
meeting.   The  general  topic of this workshop will be quadratic
forms and areas of mathematics related to quadratic forms in  one
way  or  the  other.   It  is  our pleasure to have the following
persons as invited speakers at our workshop:

        Ricardo Baeza (Santiago de Chile)

        David Leep (Lexington, Kentucky)

        Jan Minac (London, Ontario)

Those of you who would like  to  participate  in  this  workshop,
please  let us know by March 31.  We will be able to accomodate a
certain number of talks by other participants.  So  in  case  you
intend  to  take  part,  please  inform  us  if you would like to
contribute to the success of this workshop by giving a talk.

The workshop will start on Tuesday, May 25 and last until Friday,
May  28.   Note  that  Monday,  May  24  is  a  holiday in France
(Whitsuntide Monday).

IMPORTANT:  If you decide to participate, please let us also know
whether  we  should  book a room in a hotel for you and what your
arrival and departure day will be.
