On this page we have collected some notes on problems that may possibly occur due to the upgrade of the operating system. If you encounter other problems or have questions, feel free to send an email to root@nullmath.uni-bielefeld.de.
- at the login prompt you might have to choose the correct language, keyboard layout or desktop from the menus at the bottom of the screen. These menus only appear after you enter your username and hit return. After you have selected your options you finish the login by entering your password (here it is important to choose the correct keyboard layout to avoid typing errors!).
- when you start Thunderbird after the upgrade, you will be prompted with a "Migration Assistant". Please do not change any settings here and just close the tab. In particular do NOT activate synchronisation for IMAP folders.
- in case you have an old Xmodmap.Umlaut (for typing umlauts on keyboards with english layout), you may have to fetch an updated version here.
