RCM2 research visitor
We are delighted to welcome
Alexey Garber
(
School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences)
as RCM
2 research visitor.
His interests are discrete geometry and combinatorics with focus on parallelohedra theory, geometrical properties of quasiperiodic point sets, and measure equipartitions.
He recently won the
Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Fellowship for experienced researchers, and will spend a total of 9 month as research visitor at the RCM
2.
The visits will be spread over 3 years, for 3 month each year starting in 2021 (delayed from 2020).
RCM2 visiting professors
We are delighted to welcome
Michael Coons
(
School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the
University of Newcastle, Australia) and
and
Philip J. Gerrish
(
School of Biology of the
Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia)
as RCM
2 visiting professors.

Dr. Haik Mashurian appointed Professor in Zittau/Görlitz
As of November 1st, 2007, Dr.
Haik Mashurian, a former staff member of the RCM2,
has been appointed W2-Professor for biostatistics at
the
University of Applied Sciences of Zittau/Görlitz (FH).
After his PhD at the University of Jerevan
(Armenia) and a postdoctoral year at the FU Berlin (at the chair of
M. Aigner) he came to Bielefeld to first work in the information
theory group of R. Ahlswede. Later, he worked on the topics of
combinatorics and point process theory within the
group of M. Baake. His last stage in Bielefeld was the group for
biomathematics of E. Baake.
In Zittau/Görlitz he is going to play an important role in
