• (Washington Post, 29.05.03) Blair had claimed that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction ready to use within 45 minutes. Blair's office insists that the claim was contained in an intelligence dossier which was entirely the work of British intelligence agencies. "Not one word of the dossier was not entirely the work of the intelligence agencies," Blair's office said in a statement to the BBC.

  The BBC, however, said its intelligence source didn't dispute the origin of the information, but said the agencies were skeptical of the claim (that weapons of mass destruction could be ready for use within 45 minutes). "The information which I'm told was dubious did come from the agencies, but they were unhappy about it because they didn't think it should have been in there," said BBC reporter Andrew Gilligan. "They thought it was not corroborated sufficiently, and they actually thought it was wrong. They thought the informant concerned had got it wrong, they thought he had misunderstood what was happening."

  Regel: Man schreibt etwas in ein Dossier, von dem bekannt ist, dass es falsch ist (fuegt vielleicht sogar hinzu, dass dies falsch ist). Und zitiert dann, dass dies Wort-fuer-Wort im Dossier steht...

• Graf Bobby heuert einen Detektiv an, um seine Frau zu beschatten. Der Detektiv findet heraus, dass die Frau sich immer Dienstags in einem Hotel mit einem Mann trifft, er mietet sich also im Haus gegenueber ein. Am naechsten Tag berichtet er, dass er sehen konnte, wie die beiden ins Zimmer traten, und sich sich umarmten. Graf Bobby: "Und dann?" "Dann zogen sie sich aus." Graf Bobby: "Und dann?" Der Detektiv: "Dann konnte ich nichts mehr sehen, weil sie das Licht ausmachten". Graf Bobby: "Immer diese Ungewissheit."
