NOTE: This website is unlikely to be updated any more. By August 2013 I should have a website at Binghamton. ResearchResearch InterestsBroadly, I study group theory and geometric group theory. Some specific groups I am interested in are Thompson's groups, and generalizations such as braided Thompson's groups and higher dimensional Thompson's groups. I also study groups of partially symmetric automorphisms of free groups, which interpolate between the sometimes mysterious full automorphism groups and the much more well understood groups of symmetric automorphisms. Another big topic of interest for me is group actions on buildings, including algebraic groups. Other interests include Coxeter and Artin groups, noncommutative algebra and number theory.
