Düsseldorf.

There is a train connection from the airport ("Düsseldorf Flughafen Fernbahnhof") to the main station of Bielefeld (Bielefeld Hbf ); usually without change of trains (but not late in the evening). There is a sky train from the terminal buildings to this airport train station which runs very frequently. There are fast trains (IC, EC, ICE), these trains leave every hour, it takes 100 minutes, Sometimes one has to change trains in Dortmund (same platform, just opposite).

Hannover.

Nowadays in most cases the best choice. There is a subway connection from the airport (inside the building, lower level: "Hannover Flughafen") to the main station of Hannover (Hannover Hbf), it leaves every 30 minutes and takes 20 minutes.

From the main station, there are fast trains (IC, EC, ICE) to the main station of Bielefeld (Bielefeld Hbf); these trains leave every hour, it takes 50 minutes.

Hamburg

Sometimes convenient for visitors travelling from Scandinavia. There is an airport bus to the main station (Hamburg Hbf). From there, one should take a (fast) train (= ICE) to Hannover, change trains, and continue to the main station of Bielefeld ((Bielefeld Hbf). The train rides together take 130 - 150 minutes.

There are fast train connections (every hour) directly from the airport ("Frankfurt Flughafen Fernbahnhof") to the main station of Bielefeld (Bielefeld Hbf), either via Dortmund or via Hannover. It takes 4 hours. Some of the connections via Dortmund are without change of trains!
