BIREP: Representation Theory at Bielefeld

Mini Workshop

Idempotent modules

Bielefeld/Germany, February 19 - 21, 1998.

The workshop will be held at University of Bielefeld (starting on February 19 at 12:00 am and ending on February 21 at 12:00 am).

Subject and aim:

Idempotent modules have been introduced by Rickard in a paper which appeared recently in the Journal of the LMS. They provide an important tool in modular representation theory of finite groups.

The aim of this workshop is to read together the original paper of Rickard. There will be also a discussion of background material (e.g. Bousfield localization) and some more recent work on idempotent modules.

This workshop is a continuation of the summerschool 1997 on group cohomology in Willebadessen. It is planed to continue the collaboration on this subject.

Everybody who is interested in this workshop is invited to register with Henning Krause or Steffen König, preferably by e-mail:
henning@mathematik.uni-bielefeld.de or
koenig@mathematik.uni-bielefeld.de .
