Here a quotation from the October 2002 issue of the Notices
of the American Mathematical Society, a footnote by Richard E. Borcherds
to his Article "What is the Monster?": The announcement of the classification
of the simple groups about twenty years ago was a little overenthusiastic, but a recent
1.300-page preprint by M.Aschbacher and S.D.Smith should finally complete it.
Note the reluctant formulation "should".

These webpages list information about classes of mathematical
structures. The aim is to have a central place to
check what properties are known about these structures.
- Mathematical
Logic around the world
Here is a
general list of mathematics web sites around the world. Another source
of bibliographical information is the
Hypatia Electronic Library. National servers of many countries
can be accessed through the server of the
International Mathematical Union.
All sorts of mathematics related information can be obtained from
Platonic Realms, which contains
an interactive mathematics encyclopedia and
a math links library.
What is popular can be found on the
most frequently linked pages in the MathSearch index.
