From the Train Station to the University
Upon arrival at the station in Bielefeld, exit towards "Bahnhofsplatz" and cross the square. Walk past the white hotel "Bielefelder Hof". A few steps down the street, leaving the hotel to your left, you'll find an entrance to the "Stadtbahn", marked with a blue sign showing a "U".
Take Line 4 in the direction "Universität/Lohmannshof". Trains run every ten minutes during the day, and the ride takes about ten minutes. Exit at the station "Universität".
Tickets for Public Transportation
Tickets are available from the machines located at the intermediate level. To go to the university, the correct fare is called "BI 1". Currently (February 2012), a single ride is 2,10 Euro (or 7,20 Euro for four rides). Please note that the ticket has to be validated at one of the little boxes near the escalators. Should you start a ride at a different stop, you might need to validate your ticket on the train.
From the Stop "Universität" to my Office
Walk towards the university building, go up the stairs and enter the main hall. Turn right and cross the hall diagonally. When reaching the stationary shop and before passing the Turkish restaurant, turn left and pass through the glass doors. Take the elevator to the 5th floor. Exit to the left and turn right again in front of the mailboxes. My office V5–103 is the first on the left-hand side.
