International Conferences on Representations of Algebras

The series of ICRA conferences was established by V. Dlab in 1974. The purpose of these meetings is to exchange the latest results in an exciting research area. From the outset it has been a major focus to bring together leading and well established experts with young researchers who are just starting out and profit greatly from the possibilities of exchange and contact provided and from workshops where recent advances are presented in detailed exposition. There usually is organized a workshop as well as the conference itself.

The ICRA Award

The Scientific Advisory Committee of ICRA 11 (Patzcuaro, Mexico, 2004) decided to establish the

International Conferences on Representations of Algebras (ICRA) Award

The ICRA Award is awarded at each session of ICRA for outstanding work by young mathematicians in the field of Representations of Algebras. Aims to create the ICRA Award are:

  • to point out contemporary important development in the field,
  • to encourage research in the field,
  • to support young algebraists to achieve early scientific recognition,
  • to stimulate identification of young people with the subject.
The ICRA Award consists of a certificate containing a citation. The award will be announced at the Opening Ceremony of each session of ICRA and awarded at the banquet of the Conference. The recipients would be expected to give a plenary talk. Award and citation will be published in the Proceedings of ICRA and widely communicated.

Eligibility: Candidates must be at most 35 years old or have defended their PhD within the last 6 years, at the starting date of ICRA. Exceptions will be made for career breaks, broadly interpreted, e.g. parental leave, career change…

The Award Committee: The Scientific Committee appoints the Award Committee, consisting of five people, not all of the same gender. It includes the former and present ICRA chair plus three additional members. Each member serves for at most three ICRA sessions.

All members of the community, except the members of the Award Committee, are encouraged to nominate candidates for the award. The nominations letters should be 1–2 pages, and can be signed by one or more people. The eligibility of the candidate should be justified by the nominator(s). The Award Committee makes the final decision on behalf of the Scientific Committee.
