Discussion (V2-200, Thursday 5th of September, 15:30h)

YWTS writes:

We are hosting a guided discussion about the impact of working in a male-dominated area on women’s productivity, career opportunities, and wellbeing. YWTS members are invited to share thoughts and insights, mostly through comparing interactions in male vs. female settings, e.g., from this year’s International Day of Women in Maths hosted by the TRR 358.

Dr. Sabine Schäfer, Coordinator of the Bielefeld Graduate School for Sociology and History, will contribute scientific insights on gender disparities.

We aim to explore what we can learn by comparing everyday university life with an environment where female researchers collaborate and present their work to a predominantly female audience. Female workshop participants will also share their observations from the week.

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner takes place at Univarza (located inside the universities main building) on Thursday September 5 starting 6 pm. The buffet of vegetarian Turkish food is for free for registered participants. Drinks (except water) are not included.
