The workshop will focus on recent advances in the study of permutation groups (both finite and infinite) and their applications, bringing together leading experts working in several related areas. As an essential tool in the study of permutation groups, the meeting will also highlight recent developments concerning the subgroup structure of simple groups of Lie type (and corresponding algebraic groups) and related asymptotic and computational methods. Ultimately, the aim of the meeting is to stimulate further advances by promoting the development of new collaborations and directions of research.
Talks start Thursday morning.
On Saturday there will be a celebration of the 80'th birthday of Bernd Fischer and in the evening there will be a joint dinner in his honour.
