Previous conferences
Format
There will be one-hour presentations by the keynote speakers as well as shorter contributed presentations. A poster session can be organized to provide opportunity for all participants to present their work. In addition, the programme will feature a round table discussion.
Focus group discussion
A focus group discussion entitled Women in Mathematics: challenges and opportunities in Germany will take place on Friday, 9 June 2017, from 14–16 h. The event, organized by Maria Infusino (Konstanz) and Andrea Nickel (Bielefeld), will consist of an informal discussion about the state of women in mathematics in Germany with a particular focus on the challenges they are experiencing in their career paths and on the concrete actions which are or might be taken towards gender equality in mathematics. After some special contributions by Sara Azzali (Potsdam), Salma Kuhlmann (Konstanz) and Maria Rupprecht (Heidelberg) the discussion will be run in groups of participants at the same academic stage and then proceed in a collective debate.

Participants are kindly requested to register by 2 June 2017. If you intend to participate, please send an e-mail to gentz@math.uni-bielefeld.de, stating your name and affiliation. Please make sure to include "EWM Conference" in the subject line.
If you intend to give a presentation (talk or poster) please include title and abstract with your registration. Proposals for talks should be received by 25 May 2017.
Financial support
Limited financial support is available for female participants. Requests for support must be received with your registration for the workshop and at the latest by 25 May 2017.
Accommodation
Accommodation at Arcadia Hotel Bielefeld in the city center will be provided for most participants.
If you requested accommodation, you should have received an e-mail confirming your reservation.
