Rules for Twister®
Since I've been getting requests for further information about Twister®
gameplay in the real world, here, briefly, are the rules for Twister®.
(Keep in mind that this is strictly from memory, so little details, like the
size of the board, may not be exactly correct.)
Game Pieces
- A plastic mat with dots in four colors laid out much like the background
of the Twister® page (in a four by six grid.)
- A spinner which selects some combination of color (red, green, blue,
yellow) and body part (right hand, left hand, right foot left foot.)
- Generally, there are two to four players (many more than four would be a
bit much for the size of the mat) and it's usually everyone for his/herself.
Sequence of Play
- The players start out standing on the edges of the board.
- Someone (generally not playing on the board) spins the spinner.
- The players all put the appropriate body part of the appropriate
colored circle
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until:
- A player is out when he/she falls to the mat (rather than being supported
by just hands and feet.)
- Generally, a game ends when there is only one person left standing (or
whatever) on the board.
