BIREP summer school 2025 – Topics

Participants will be asked to contribute by delivering a talk on one of the topics from a selected list, available here, which includes the main references to follow. We plan to cover the following content:

  • Foundations of finite tensor categories, including the basics of category theory and preliminaries on representation theory.
  • General properties of finite tensor categories and basic constructions, such as exact module categories, FP dimensions, and quantum doubles.
  • Tanaka duality and related structure theorems.
  • Applications and motivations of the general theory, such as cohomological finite generation, support varieties, noncommutative tt-geometry, complexes with small cohomology, and others.
