Corona restrictions

This rule still applies in NRW:

  • Public transport: medical mask or FFP2-mask is necessary.

The mandatory obligation to wear a face mask no longer applies since April 4, 2022. However, all people present on campus are urged to behave out of consideration for the community and to respect the need for protection of their counterparts in daily interactions to comply with the proven hygiene rules and to continue to wear a medical mask indoors.

Meals

The University Restaurant (Mensa “Academica”, denoted by ME on the campus map) is located near the main University entrance in the C-building. It offers a varied selection of meals including vegetarian and vegan options. The Mensa only accepts payments via EC cards or Mensa-Guest-Cards; payment by cash or credit/debit card is not possible. Each registered participant of the conference will receive a Mensa-Guest-Card (5 € bail). You have to put money on the card to pay for lunch. The opening hours are 11:15-14:00 Monday-Thursday and 11:15-13:30 on Friday.

As an alternative the shopping mall “Südring Center” (5-10 Minutes walk) offers various snack and fast food options.

Hike at Haxtergrund

Haxtergrund is a local recreation area in walking distance of the University.

Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum

The Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum is the largest computer museum in the world (according to Wikipedia). There will be a guided tour starting at 4pm.

We will meet in front of the museum at 15:45. You need to provide a covid certificate showing that you are vaccinated or recovered. We suggest the following three ways to get to the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum.

1) Walk individually through the city, you may grab lunch on the way.
2) Take bus 68 from Uni/Schöne Aussicht to Maspernplatz. From there it is a walk of 25 minutes.
3) Meet in front of building "O" of the university at 14:45. We will walk together along the path in this link.

Conference dinner: Thursday, September 29, 19:00

The Conference Dinner will be held in the Restaurant Gut Ringelsbruch - Von Köppen, Ringelsbruch 9, 33106 Paderborn. The restaurant is located outside from Paderborn, a bus will bring you there.

We provide two networks for the WIFI access: Eduroam and WEBAUTH. Please follow the instructions on the information sheet which is part of your conference material.

On Wednesday, September 28, Sinfonie Nr. 2 c-moll „Auferstehung“ of Gustav Mahler is performed in the Hoher Dom.
